NEEDLES and Reebok are back with a fresh take on the beloved NEEDLES x Reebok Beatnik silhouette. Following their initial collaboration in 2018 with BEAMS, the two brands have again joined forces to release a fully backless version of the cult-favorite Beatnik. This new iteration does away with the heel straps, transforming the shoe into a sleek mule perfect for the summer season.

The NEEDLES x Reebok Beatnik Mule will come in two colorways: black and tan, featuring NEEDLES’ iconic butterfly logo stitched in purple on the suede upper. This luxurious material enhances the shoe’s texture and provides a sophisticated look that seamlessly fits into urban and natural settings. The collaboration emphasizes comfort and style, making these mules ideal for relaxed, everyday wear.

Keizo Shimizu, founder of NEEDLES, stated, “By removing the heel straps from the popular slide, we’ve given it a more relaxed finish.” This alteration creates a unique piece of footwear that blends effortlessly with the NEEDLES collection while maintaining its distinct identity.

The NEEDLES x Reebok Beatnik Mule also retains the signature toothed outsole, ensuring durability and grip. Accompanied by a lookbook that evokes an “American West Coast” vibe, the low-key style of these mules was designed with summertime lounging in mind.

The latest collaboration between NEEDLES and Reebok is set to release on 25 May, available through Reebok’s official website and select retailers. Priced at US$120, these mules are sure to be a hit among fans of both brands to add to the summer rotation.
