American rapper Jack Harlow has been a fan of New Balance since he was a senior in high school in 2014. In an interview with Footwear News, the Louisville, Kentucky native stated that he had been going to the New Balance factory to check things out since 2017 or 2018. With this in mind, it’s really no wonder why his second New Balance sneaker has this level of intricacy and thoughtfulness in the design.

The New Balance ambassador’s canvas of choice is the popular 1906R. The central theme of the shoe is floral, brought to life through a predominantly pink upper and solid, deep green rubber outsole that perfectly ties together the aesthetic.

The pink upper features delicate pink floral illustrations throughout, and the insoles, with watercolor paintings of a lady and gentleman on each side, further reflect the pair’s attention to detail and give a nod to Southern charm through their outfits.

Rumors have been circulating that the Jack Harlow x New Balance 1906R might be released during Harlow’s Gazebo Festival, which will take place from 25 to 26 May. Neither the artist nor New Balance has confirmed this. Either way, keep your eyes peeled for a release at New Balance brick-and-click stores real soon. Until then, stay tuned to SNKRDUNK Magazine for the latest updates as they arrive.
