First released in 1985, the iconic “Bred” colorway of the Nike Air Jordan 1 High has remained in the pantheon of footwear in the four decades since. The archetypal silhouette’s Black and Varsity Red palette symbolized rebellion and style, further propelled by the apocryphal story of it being banned by the NBA for violating uniform regulations.
The rumor mill has the Nike Air Jordan 1 High ’85 “Bred” returning in Spring 2025, in lieu of its 40th anniversary. The retro release promises to be a faithful recreation of the original, in contrast to the “Reimagined” motif employed in recent years.

The taller silhouette with a larger Swoosh stays true to its 1985 build, differentiating it from its Retro High OG counterpart. A White midsole rounds out the aesthetic, with each pair arriving with extra laces and a hangtag.
