Over three decades on, the Nike Air Jordan 5 remains in the pantheon of the greatest sneakers. The Tinker Hatfield brainchild has seen a plethora of iterations and reissues in that timespan. And attesting to its enduring legacy, the “Black Metallic” colorway has been rumored to return in Spring 2025.

Expect a sleek Black nubuck upper, accented by a Metallic Silver shimmer on the 3M reflective tongues and shark teeth. Speckled Black midsole details add depth, while classic “Nike Air” branding graces the heel tabs. The Jumpman on the tongue arrives in Fire Red presiding over the hallmark lace toggle in the same shade.

Moving in, a familiar “Air Jordan” inscription is emblazoned upside down on the inner tongues. Translucent mesh netting and a visible Air unit in the heel remain. All of the above-mentioned rest atop a translucent rubber outsole, completing the aesthetic.

Considering it’s a full year away, a firm release date hasn’t been disclosed. Nonetheless, enjoy a look at the pair in the gallery above, including its original make in 1990. Stay tuned for more details and images in the coming months!
