To commemorate their 70th anniversary, Japanese jewelry brand TASAKI has partnered with ASICS to create an extravagant take on the latter’s GT-2160 footwear model.

Utilizing a clean white and cream color scheme as the foundation, TASAKI embellishes the footwear with Akoya pearls in various styles, drawing inspiration from their “Balance” and “Danger” collections.

Available in both signature and luxury line editions, each are distinguished by their unique features. The former boasts a single row of pearls and an 18K gold-plated silver bar, while the latter features multi-layered pearls paired with an 18K yellow gold bar.

Additionally, a premium offering comes in the form of the “Pearl Sequence” sneaker, which features over 1,000 Akoya pearls and categorized by the jewelry brand as part of their “art piece” line.

While exuding luxury, the TASAKI x ASICS collection does come with a steep price range. Expect to shell out between 165,000 JPY to 4,411,000 JPY (~US$1,088 to US$29,067) for a pair.

If you’re still eager to get your hands on a pair, they’ll be available at TASAKI’s “FLOATING SHELL” exhibition in Omotesando, Tokyo, running from 26 April to 12 May.
