Converse’s Weapon, a champion of ’80s basketball footwear, gets a radical makeover courtesy of quintessential avant-garde designer Rick Owens. His DRKSHDW label overhauls the silhouette as the TURBOWPN.

After the release of the “Pelican/Black-Cloud Cream” colorway last October, Owens unveils this new “Cave” makeup. The TURBOWPN Mid features a tan tumbled leather upper, evoking the earthy tones of ancient caverns. The collaboration is tangibly represented through the designer’s branding replacing Converse’s classic chevron star on the profile.

The TURBOWPN Mid Cave retains nods to the original Weapon, including the signature Y strap. A heightened tongue showcases the logos of both Converse and Owens, while supported by a chunky cream midsole and a serrated tonal rubber outsole.

The Rick Owens x Converse DRKSHDW TURBOWPN Mid “Cave” will launch this year although a date hasn’t been explicitly specified. Come D-Day, find them through Rick Owens stores, Converse stores, Nike SNKRS, and select online and in-store retailers. Available in men’s sizing, the shoe is priced at US$200.
