As April Fool’s Day approaches, the sneakersphere is abuzz with anticipation for the slick pranks their favorite brands are about to pull. It’s the one day a year that creativity in the wackiest sense is rewarded. Brands are able to get away—nay, get rewarded—for their ludicrous creations sans criticism. The more outlandish, the better on this day.

This year, Three Stripes has taken it a step further by creating not a shoe but a shoe box reimagined as a shoe. While it’s still up in the air if this is an actual release, there’s a chance the brand might do so since it’s listed on adidas CONFIRMED.

Imagine a shoe crafted from the iconic adidas shoebox, complete with the blue and white Stripes. Natural fibers (see: cardboard) form the base, with the lid flipped over to become the sole. An extra panel acts as a tongue, and chunky laces complete the illusion, with their practicality fully in question.

Details are scarce—for instance, on CONFIRMED, the price of the shoe is listed as “Price Upon Request”. Eagle-eyed fans might have already noticed a clue, though: the product code is AF0104, which is rather familiar to a certain date on the calendar.
