New Balance Goes Avant-Garde With the 1906A “Sea Salt/Metallic Silver”
The 1906A is the brand's latest addition to their 1906 series.
Boston-based footwear company New Balance has seen its sales surge in recent months thanks to its ability to keep its finger on the pulse of the sneakersphere. One such approach they’ve taken is to breathe new life into their lines.
This can definitely be seen in the 1906A, the brand’s latest addition to the 1906 series. This silhouette takes the line in a daring new direction with its avant-garde design featuring mismatched panels, asymmetrical cuts, and a deconstructed aesthetic.
The “Sea Salt/Metallic Silver” iteration of the 1906A rocks a reimagined upper that boasts stacked overlays, strategically placed panels, and meticulous details that create a sense of controlled chaos. The vamp is shifted towards the toe, allowing for a dynamic display of textures on the sides and midfoot.
Further building upon the shoe’s unconventional look, the tongue features an angled branding panel and an elongated N logo. The model number is subtly inscribed on the midfoot, sitting above a striking Metallic Silver leather piece that extends beyond the upper.
Additional details include an O logo on the heel and extra stitching for a DIY feel. The 1906A is completed with a comfortable foam midsole borrowed from the 860v2, finished in a complementary cream and grey palette. A durable black outsole provides the finishing touch.
Look for the New Balance 1906A “Sea Salt/Metallic Silver” to be released at New Balance brick-and-click stores and select retailers this Summer 2024. A firm release date and pricing details are still under wraps, so stay locked in for more updates.
