The Nike Jordan Spizike Low “Lightning” Strikes May 2024
The silhouette returns in a low-top iteration.
[Update 10 May 2024] Release dates for the Nike Jordan Spizike Low “Lightning” have been confirmed! The pair will see a pop-up release through the TOKYO23 store in Japan on 11—12 May, followed by a SNKRS drop on 25 May 9AM (JST). Stay tuned for the release!
The Nike Jordan Spizike debuted in October 2006, as a tribute to Spike Lee’s Mars Blackmon character, who helped propel the Air Jordan line with his iconic commercials. This silhouette is a “Spike-and-Mike” hybrid that has merged elements from the Air Jordan 3, 4, 5, 6, and 20—all sneakers connected to Mars Blackmon’s on-screen appearances.
In 2024, Jordan Brand is bringing back the pair with a twist—in a brand new low-top version. This summer, the sneaker will get a jolt of electricity in a “Lightning” colorway inspired by the legendary Air Jordan 4 in the same colorway.
The shoe features a sleek Wolf Grey base with a pop of Pure Platinum on the tongue. Varsity Maize takes center stage, shining on the leather overlays and elephant-print mudguards. Spike Lee’s signature style can be seen in the Mars Blackmon portrait and his brand’s 40 Acres and a Mule Filmwork logo on the heel. Black accents and an icy outsole complete the retro-inspired design.
The Nike Jordan Spizike Low “Lightning” will hit Nike brick-and-click stores in Summer 2024 at an RRP of US$170. Stay locked in for a firmer release date.
In the meantime, the Nike Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Black/Metallic Gold” arrives in August.
