A Fresh Trio Arrives: The New Balance BB550 “Flying NB” Pack
Continuing the silhouette's legacy since its 2020 revival.
The New Balance BB550’s start as a basketball shoe in 1989 gained little traction. That all changed in 2020, when Teddy Santis—founder of Aimé Leon Dore and now New Balance MADE in USA Creative Director—brought the silhouette back to life and made it popular with sneaker lovers everywhere.
This year, the iconic silhouette is back in three colorways—”White”, “Rich Oak”, and “Black”.
The low-top sneaker boasts clean lines, offering a timeless look that can go with any outfit on- and off- the court. The three-dimensional N logo typically seen in most 550 models has been replaced with the Boston-based footwear company’s Flying NB logo for a fresh look.
The upper is made using quality, premium leather with perforations seen on the mudguard and some other areas of the shoe.
The New Balance BB550 “Flying NB” Pack got its release in Japan on 8 March 2024 at New Balance retailers. It comes at a price point of 18,700 JPY (~US$127).
