The leader of the Schedar Squad, the Fire-type specialists of the villainous Team Star, Mela makes an appearance in the Ancient Roar [SV4K] expansion set by way of a Special Art Rare (SAR) Pokémon TCG card. Everything about this card plays into the fiery theme—from the presence of her signature Pokémon Torkoal to the card’s Fire Energy-adding effect to even the character’s own color scheme.

In addition to being exceptionally rare, this card also has a decent level of usability in-game. This Supporter card can be used to attach a Fire Energy card to a Pokémon of the player’s choice. The player may then proceed to draw additional cards from the deck until the player has a total of six cards in possession.

The general rule that female characters tend to be more popular than male ones once again holds true; this card has a higher value than others depicting male members of Team Star. In addition, the art style adds depth and character while the presence of Torkoal, a third-generation Pokémon, may provide long-time Pokémon fans with a sense of nostalgia.
