[Update 16 Apr 2024] Campaign shots of the PlayStation x PUMA collection have now surfaced, unveiling an accompanying apparel lineup alongside the footwear models. Check them out in the gallery above and mark your calendars for the 18 April release, happening via PUMA and select retailers.

Video games and footwear have, on numerous occasions, collided in the past. The sneaker landscape, in fact, isn’t terra incognita for PlayStation having explored it before with Travis Scott, Paul George, and Nike. This year, they’ll be led through it by PUMA, reimagining their classic Suede and the modern RS-X.

Of course, the pairs will adorn PlayStation’s most famous iconography. The triangle, circle, X, and square buttons seamlessly woven into the fabric of the two silhouettes.

The Suede variants, available in “Grey” and “Black”, showcase debossed symbols across the suede upper. For a nostalgic touch, a cut-out near the heel reveals the familiar PlayStation controller buttons, while a special PUMA x PlayStation hangtag adds a finishing touch.

Next, the RS-X colorways introduce a vibrant gradient pattern on the ripstop base, reminiscent of the PlayStation’s dynamic interface. Those iconic controller buttons make a bold reappearance as cut-outs near the mudguard, on the tongue tag, and even on an additional hangtag.

As a final flourish, each pair boasts semi-translucent soles that cleverly display the PlayStation button symbols, a definite fan service.

A release date and price details remain undisclosed still, but the PlayStation x PUMA Suede and RS-X will be availed at PUMA’s brick-and-click stores and select retailers come D-Day. Stay tuned!
