The Nike Air Jordan 38 Low “Torch” Gets the Olympics Off to a Great Start

If they gave out Olympic gold medals for sneakers, this would deserve one.

Another of the many Olympic-themed sneakers expected to drop in anticipation of the Paris Olympics later this year, Jordan Brand’s Nike Air Jordan 38 Low “Torch” will surely be one of the standouts.

Named after the iconic torch used to signal the beginning of the Olympics, the sneaker incorporates its own unique flair to a design inspired by that same torch.

This colorway features a palette of cement grey, hyper crimson, particle beige, and cool grey. Displayed in these colors are details intended to reference the Olympic torch.

The shoe is made of a blend of nubuck, textile, and neoprene. Its minimalistic design features crimson highlights on the laces and right shoe’s tongue tag. An Olympic torch graphic can be seen on the tongue of the left shoe; this visual concept is also present on the grey upper which is adorned with a flame-like motif.

For performance and comfort, the cement grey midsole comes with crimson TPU reinforcements. The shoe also features X-Plate technology to maximize responsiveness and stability.

The Nike Air Jordan 38 Low “Torch” will make its way to select retailers and Nike’s online store later this year. Its retail price is US$185.
