The original Nike Air Tech Challenge 2 “Hot Lava” soared to popularity in the ’90s after tennis legend Andre Agassi began wearing them. Now, this sneaker is finally ready to make a comeback after five years out of the market.
This updated iteration of the “Hot Lava” taps into its classic vibe with an eclectic color palette of Phantom, Hot Lava, Black, Silver, and Pale Ivory. The white leather foundation features breathable perforations on its sides.
The titular Hot Lava shade is the shoe’s centerpiece—it’s clearly visible on the sides, Swoosh logos, tongue branding, and inner lining. For visual contrast and increased depth, the Hot Lava areas are supported by black and grey accents.
On the embroidered heels is the Nike Air branding in white. Finishing things off are a visible Air unit in the heel and a rubber outsole.
To be released in fall 2024, the Nike Air Tech Challenge 2 “Hot Lava” will be available at select Nike retailers, both online and in-store, including Nike.com. Each pair costs US$150.
