The adidas Attitude Hi “Collegiate Red” Returns After a Decade
The sneaker's design contains references to its original '80s aesthetic.
The last time the adidas Attitude Hi had its most recent colorway was in 2014. Since then, apart from a handful of collaborations featuring the work of Jeremy Scott, this silhouette has been kept out of the rotation—until now.
The Attitude Hi “Collegiate Red” carries vintage vibes, blending the aesthetics of today’s adidas models with their ’80s counterparts. This may also be a call-back to Patrick Ewing—this shoe was the New York Knicks legend’s signature sneaker in 1986.
Examples of the vintage elements found on this sneaker are the retro adidas Basketball branding on the tongue and the trefoil on the heel. To further accentuate the nostalgia factor, there are cracked collegiate red leather stripes as well as ivory-colored midsole and laces.
There’s no information as of yet about the possibility of future Attitude Hi colorways. However, the relatively simple color-blocking scheme might imply that there are indeed more colorways just around the corner.
