The Kansas City Chiefs have made it to the Super Bowl for the fourth time in five years on the back of the continued excellence of future Hall of Famer Patrick Mahomes. With this in mind, the release of a new iteration of his signature sneaker—the adidas Mahomes 2 Impact FLX Turf—has been timed to perfection.

This sneaker changes things up a little when compared to previous Mahomes sneakers. Its cut is slightly higher than that of the original; however, its mid-top silhouette remains in place. The sneaker’s durable mesh base provides breathability. There are also TPU and textile overlays which are both visually appealing and functional.

The “Grey” colorway includes metallic silver and gold accents. The midfoot and vamp overlays contain golden embroidered details to add an air of prestige. Other elements of the sneaker which are colored in gold are the heel counter, Mahomes’ logo on the tongue, and parts of the mostly grey sole unit.

The concept of “Black” colorway originates from American football tactics. It features Xs, Os, and arrows that resemble strategic graphs. The black base is paired with metallic silver on parts of the midsole and tongue tag; the heel counter has a grey finish for contrast.

Although the technical features of the adidas Mahomes 2 Impact FLX Turf haven’t yet been made public, among them will likely be an outsole providing a great deal of traction as well as a Boost midsole which maximizes both comfort and energy return.

The adidas Mahomes 2 Impact FLX Turf will release in February 2024 through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. A retail price hasn’t yet been revealed; however, it’s known that it will be available in men’s and GS sizing.
