Foxtrot Uniform Reimagines the ASICS EX89
Featuring Foxtrot Uniform’s signatures: chalky edges, aged soles, faux glue stains, and weathered leather.
Singapore’s very own Foxtrot Uniform have teamed up with ASICS SportStyle to breathe new life into a legendary silhouette: the EX89; a reincarnation of the 1989 GEL-EXTREME, a basketball sneaker by Toshikazu Kayano himself.
Back then, its stability and iconic GEL cushioning made it a pro athlete’s dream. These days, it’s transcended its performance pedigree as a lifestyle staple, keeping the bold color blocks, layered leather, and its recognizable outsole pattern.
Moreover, the EX89 gets a performance upgrade with FF BLAST cushioning for featherweight responsiveness and a sculpted heel for rock-solid stability. Kayano’s first US trip in 1987 even inspires the outsole, mimicking the aerial view of a bustling city.
And then there’s Foxtrot Uniform’s signatures: chalky edges, aged soles, faux glue stains, and weathered leather. Lest we forget, the premium suede and leather accents throughout.
The Foxtrot Uniform x ASICS EX89 “Neo-Vintage” releases on 2 February at the Foxtrot Uniform site and Limited Edt’s brick-and-click stores. A global rollout follows on 19 February.
