Facing imminent removal, the colossal Gundam statue in Yokohama, Japan, will soon be a thing of the past. On the flip side, making a return is the highly sought-after Gundam-inspired Nike Air Max 97, which graced the market in 2020.

Constructed in a white leather upper, the sneaker boasts University Red, Psychic Blue, and Black accents throughout, reminiscent of the RX-78-2 Gundam’s color palette. Nike branding then appears along the midfoot, with vibrant red overlays accentuating the tongue and heel counter, and the iconic air unit visibly extending across the sole unit.

For those eager to secure a pair, the Nike Air Max 97 “Gundam” is now available for purchase via Nike and select retailers. The retail price is set at US$175.
