The Nike Air Max 1 is one of the Swoosh’s most celebrated silhouettes of all time. After all, it’s still one of the company’s top-sellers over 35 years since its introduction. With its long history, a series of celebrated and legendary colorways have left their mark in the sneakersphere, with one being the “Powerwall BRS”.

Originally introduced in 2006, the OG Nike Air Max 1 “Powerwall BRS” was released as part of the brand’s “3 Decades of Cushioning” series. It paid homage to Nike’s roots, when the company was formerly known as Blue Ribbon Sports or BRS for short. Only 144 pairs were available upon its release. As you already would have guessed, the AM1 “Powerwall BRS” has become a coveted grail among the most ardent of Air Max collectors.

Now, according to @bubblekoppe, the legendary colorway is set to make a return in the forthcoming year, over 18 years since its first limited release. Reportedly, the 2024 Nike Air Max 1 ’86 “Powerwall BRS” will be kept faithful to its celebrated predecessor, albeit with the ’86 ‘Big Bubble’ that was re-introduced as part of this year’s Nike Air Max 1 OG release this year.
