It feels like an eternity ago, but Swatch and OMEGA’s mega-hit MoonSwatch released to much fanfare last year. Since then, the duo have steadily been releasing slightly altered colors, most frequently by way of their “Mission to Moon” style. To close out 2023, OMEGA and Swatch will now release a special “Mission to Moonshine Gold” edition.

To note, this is not the first “Moonshine Gold” we’ve seen, as the brands release this special iteration once a month during the full moon. It features a seconds hand made of OMEGA’s Moonshine™ Gold, which gives rise to its naming.

What makes this particular release special is the presence of a snowflake pattern design on the gilded seconds hand. While Swatch has mentioned it’s a homage to the Cold Moon, its also probably largely due to the fact that it’s releasing during the Christmas holiday season.

The new “Mission to Moonshine Gold” will also come with a glow-in-the-dark detail, present on both hands and hour markers. The rest of it comes as it usually does—a BIOCERAMIC case, a velcro strap, and quartz movements.
