PUMA and Tokyo’s EMISSION Celebrate Hip Hop’s 50th Anniversary with “Sparco B-Boy” Speedcat Collab
Paying homage to the sleek and stylish aesthetic of the culture's b-boying forebears.
Celebrating Hip-Hop’s 50th anniversary, PUMA alongside Tokyo’s EMISSION unveil a special commemorative collection of footwear and apparel, comprising two colorways of the titular EMISSION x PUMA Speedcat “Sparco B-Boy”, dressed in a captivating pitch-dark aesthetic with regal gold/silver accents.
Drawing from the breakdancers who would groove to DJ Kool Herc’s breakbeats, the design pays homage to the sleek and stylish aesthetic of its b-boying forebears.
Crafted from luxurious jet-black suede, the shoes boast a monochromatic palette with vibrant cream or gold tiger stripe logos, depending on the variant. Similarly, golden or metallic silver accents are introduced through the PUMA and Emission Crew logos on the heel and quarter.
Finishing off the design are the stale gum outsoles and bright blue tongue tabs that add a touch of vibrancy, while boombox hang tags complete the retro-inspired look.
The EMISSION x PUMA Speedcat “Sparco B-Boy” is scheduled for release on 2 December, 11PM at EMISSION’s online storefront. Till then, check out some of the images in the gallery above!
