Oakley x Brain Dead Readies a New Collection for Release on 7 November
Featuring a lineup of footwear and eyewear.
Oakley has always been a paragon for fashionable and functional outdoor-oriented apparel and gear. Kyle Ng’s Los Angeles-based Brain Dead, on the other hand, embodies a counter culture edginess drawing from post punk, underground comics, and skateboarding.
They may seem like two entities on disparate ends of the spectrum, but their trajectory converge for a unique collection of footwear and eyewear.
The collaboration includes two eyewear models, the Sub Zero and the Eye Jacket, both of which feature color-shifting paint jobs and Prizm Ruby lenses. The Sub Zero is a limited-edition frame that made its debut in 1992. The Eye Jacket is a more classic frame, but it still has a futuristic touch thanks to its color-shifting paint job.
The release also features a pair of Paguro slides in dark mode. Availed in Blackberry/Evening and Black/Ink, the slides are inspired by crustaceans and feature an Ethylene Vinyl Acetate structure and a Thermoplastic Polyurethane insert.
The entire Oakley x Brain Dead collection is scheduled for release on 7 November at Brain Dead’s brick-and-click stores and online at Oakley’s.
