[Update 21 Aug 2024] An official release date for the Nike Air Foamposite One “Royal” has been announced: 13 September 2024. In tandem with this, official images of the striking shoe have surfaced. The 2024 reboot comes in full-family sizing to boot: men’s sizes are going for US$240, grade school (GS) for US$180, preschool (PS) for US$100, and US$80 for toddler (TD) sizes.

In the late ’90s, the landscape of basketball shoes was changed forever with the introduction of the Nike Air Foamposite One. A silhouette created by the legendary Eric Avar specifically for Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway’s explosiveness on the court.

More than two decades later, the Swoosh will reintroduce them in the “Royal” colorway, per its original styling and construction.

The pair boasts a Dark Neon Royal Foam shell, Black and Blue hues on the mid-foot carbon fiber shank, as well as small Swooshes on the forefoot—just as they appeared in the ads from 1997. The pair is finished off with a translucent outsole underfoot.

There isn’t a firm release date yet but they are expected to be released next year with an RRP of US$240. Stay tuned for more details and images in the coming weeks!
