BAPE to Immortalize Michael Jackson with Exclusive Apparel Collaboration
Celebrating the King of Pop's enduring legacy.
BAPE and the Michael Jackson estate are partnering on a limited-edition apparel collection to honor the King of Pop’s enduring legacy. The Japanese streetwear brand, known for its pop culture-inspired designs, has crafted a capsule collection that seamlessly blends Michael Jackson’s iconic imagery with BAPE’s signature aesthetic.
The pièce de résistance is the varsity jacket reminiscent of the one Michael Jackson wore in the seminal “Thriller” music video. Each one numbered and limited to 50 pieces. It features BAPE’s signature star logo on the sleeves, the hallmark APE head on the chest, and a co-branded logo on the back.
The collection also includes graphic tees in black and white. One eye-catching design merges Michael Jackson’s visage with the iconic APE head, while another features Baby Milo grooving to the legendary “Thriller” dance alongside a youthful Michael. Another tee teases Michael Jackson’s iconic lean from the “Smooth Criminal” video, with Baby Milo emulating the move.
The Michael Jackson x BAPE Collection is scheduled for release on 28 October at BAPE’s brick-and-click stores. The Thriller Jacket will be priced at US$950 with the rest ranging between US$80 and US$66.
