[Update 31 Aug 2023] The “White/Black” ASICS GEL-Kayano Legacy “30th Anniversary” will launch on 1 September, 10 am (JST). It will be followed two weeks later on the 15th by a “Pure Silver” iteration. Both pairs will be released on ASICS JP’s website with an RRP of 19,800 JPY (~US$130). 

Birthed in 1993, ASICS’ GEL-Kayano series now celebrates its 30th anniversary. In lieu, comes a special edition of the GEL-Kayano Legacy.

The colorway gives nod to its evolution in the course of the last three decades. White and Black form the base palette with red, blue, and gold accents.

An asymmetrical portrayal has been employed. The lateral carries over the design from its early archives; while the medial sees a reflective silver finish representing its modern form, a motif pervasive in most of its contemporary iterations.

The hallmark GEL technology that’s made the pair a brand quintessence is a mainstay as well. For finishing touches comes the “Kayano” name inscribed in kanji on the tongue, and the “30th Anniversary” graphic on the insoles.

The pair will be released in ASICS’ website on 1 September with an RRP of 19,800 JPY (~US$130).
