A “Gundam” Nike Zoom Vomero 5 Surfaces
Dressing the retrofuturistic runner in the iconic colors of the classic animé.
Beginning late last year, the comeback season of the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 continues with the emergence of the “Gundam” colorway, dressing the pair in the iconic mecha’s red, blue, and silver.
A multi-material construction of patent leather, TPU, mesh, and sleek leather is employed in its design. The upper’s mesh base and TPU quarter panels is highlighted in University Red with Metallic Silver accents on the adjacent leather panels on the toe, midfoot, and heel.
For embellishments, the profile Swooshes standout in Black patent leather, with the tongue tag bearing the Nike Vomero logo, decorated with a black-and-white checkered pattern; the motif repeated on the heel tag as well.
The aesthetic is rounded out with cream-colored laces, and the presence of Photon Blue on the sockliner and the fore of the outsoles, with white, black, and grey filling the rest.
There isn’t a firm release date yet but the pair’s expected to be released sometime in the holiday season. Find them on Nike’s brick-and-click then with an RRP of US$160. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks!
