Singapore artist Tobyato will be dropping a new “Triple White” edition of his Sneaker Stone Lion figurine. The Sneaker Stone Lions were originally created for the first Sneakertopia Asia show and sold exclusively at the Art Science Museum in Singapore.

Now, in a bid to make his art more accessible to a wider audience, Tobyato has worked with toy retail brand ActionCity to produce a limited run of 88 triple white Sneaker Stone Lions. Each pair individually numbered, the stone lions feature the same unique sneaker-lion design which saw shoe laces, tongues and stitching meld into the bodies of the mythical Chinese creatures.

In Chinese culture, stone lions are regarded as guardian protectors and commonly seen at building entrances. The lions, a male and a female, serve as a symbol of harmony and balance. To Tobyato, whom we interviewed for National Day, art was the gateway to sneakers and street culture, and the stone lions are a testament of two of his passion and love.

The upcoming batch of Tobyato Sneaker Stone Lions will debut at the Tobyato Dumpling Shop on 26 August, at CO PLAY Plaza Singapura, for SG$208 per pair. To celebrate this occasion, Tobyato will be there to sign your Sneaker Stone Lions from 2 to 5 pm.
