SNKRS Day 2023: All You Need to Know
The Nike SNKRS App celebrates its 6th anniversary with SNKRS Day 2023. Here's what to expect from this year's edition of the event.
Every year, sneaker enthusiasts come together on Nike SNKRS Day for a special limited event comprising of rare sneaker releases, restocks, and interactive activities.
While traditionally falling on 8 August, the Swoosh brand has since announced that the official date for SNKRS Day 2023 will be on 9 September 2023. Mark your calendars, download the Nike SNKRS App, and get ready for a fun-filled day.
What is SNKRS Day?
SNKRS Day is an annual 1-day-only celebration for Nike’s SNKRS App. Taking place on the app itself most of the time, with sporadic inclusions of physical activations pre-COVID. Beyond the sneaker releases and restocks that most sneakerheads look forward to, past editions have also included live streams, musical performances, scavenger hunts, and more.
While Nike only officially started SNKRS Day in 2019, the launch of the SNKRS App in Europe two years ago saw a myriad of limited edition and in-demand sneaker restocks, which has since formed the backbone and identity of the festivities.
For the more avid Nike SNKRS App users (read: top tier customers), expect a myriad of exclusive access events like SNKRS Pass, SNKRS Stash, and live drops throughout the day.
How does the SNKRS App work?
The Nike SNKRS App is a free standalone app that differs from the regular Nike App. While both offer a wide range of products that Swoosh fans can purchase, the SNKRS App mainly focuses on highly-coveted, limited edition sneakers and apparel.
The SNKRS App mainly uses a Drawing system, whereby a limited quantity is released and users have to enter a raffle for them. This is where you will find collaborative releases such as Travis Scott and Off-White, and also hyped inline releases such as the Nike Dunk Low “Brown/Sail” and the Nike Air Jordan 1 High ’85 “Panda”, for example.
When is SNKRS Day 2023?
Nike has announced that this year’s SNKRS Day event will fall on 9 September, almost a whole month after the traditional 8 August date.
While fans might have to wait a little longer this year, there’s good news. Apparently, this year’s edition will be ‘accessible to all global Members’, although the extent of ‘global’ isn’t detailed at the moment. Nike has previously held SNKRS Day in the United Kingdom, Italy, Japan and South Korea.
What can you expect from SNKRS Day 2023?
Let’s not beat around the bush—new sneaker releases and restocks of hyped pairs are the biggest draw for every SNKRS Day. This year’s affair should carry on the tradition, although the sneaker restocks in question have not been officially confirmed.
