[Update 5 Dec 2023] For possibly its most important update, the Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Venice Beach” drops 13 April 2024, in full-family sizing. Men’s sizes will go for US$190, GS US$120, and PS US$90.
Kobe Bryant will forever be in the memories of the people, but with the announcement of his signature line with Nike officially returning next month, he returns to the fore of public attention. Many wonder which shoes will be part of the wave of Mamba Day releases but here’s one that’s confirmed to arrive—albeit much later.
The “Venice Beach” colorway, as seen on the Black Mamba himself with football legend Ronaldinho, was first seen on the Kobe 8 in 2013. The colorway takes inspiration from LA’s most famous beach and basketball culture. The nod materialized in the grey, orange, light blue, and yellow color treatment of the pair, the pavonine palette reminiscent of the area’s scenery.
Although there isn’t a firm release date yet, they’re expected to arrive in the summer of 2024 for US$180. More details should emerge in the coming months so stay tuned!
