[Update 28 Aug 2023] Contrary to the release date earlier, new information has come to light that the Nike Air Jordan 1 KO “Laney” will be released on 30 September instead. Find them on Nike SNKRS then with an RRP of US$150. Should anything else change, expect an update here at this very page.
The blue and yellow of the “Laney” colorway has dressed many Jordan models over the decades. As the iconic “UNC” makeup is an homage to his university alma mater, “Laney” is one for his high school. Once more, it returns to outfit the archetypal Air Jordan 1, but this time, its KO offshoot.
The acronym stands for knockoff, introduced as a cheaper alternative to its forebear, substituting its leather with a canvas make. It does have its cult following. And its repute seems to be growing in 2023, assisted by Union LA.
According to Sole Retriever, the titular pair will feature a typically blue and yellow canvas build. True Blue being the predominant color, it addresses the base, nylon tongues, Jordan Wings on the collar, and the outsoles underfoot; while Topaz Gold serves as a complement accenting the toes, profile Swooshes, collars, and laces. The vintage aesthetic is employed by way of the Sail makeup on the midsoles.
They’re said to be releasing on 9 September with an RRP of US$150. Expect an update here at this very page should anything change!
