CLOT Unveils adidas Collab As Nike Contract Comes to an End

After one last Nike release, Edison Chen's CLOT is officially moving on to adidas.

[Update 14 Oct 2023] In their SS2024 fashion show in Shanghai yesterday, CLOT officially confirmed their new global partnership with adidas Originals. Named adidas Originals by Edison Chen, the show put out co-branded sportswear-inspired apparel, alongside some eye-catching variants of adidas sneakers including the adidas Superstar and Gazelle.

Amongst the myriad of new sneaker silhouettes, the HongKong label also shock drop a tripartite Superstar collab between CLOT, NEIGHBORHOOD and adidas. Browse through the images above as we count down to more CLOT x adidas releases in 2024.

[Update 3 Jul 2023] Let the rumor mill turn! Following the news about the end of their partnership with Nike, it’s purported that CLOT will be starting a new one with adidas. Adding fuel to the rumors are some images from 2015 with head honcho Edison Chen partaking in one of the Three Stripes’ campaigns.

Furthermore, long-time sneaker leaker @horhead_sales gives his two cents that the first pair in this nascent alliance with adidas will be the iconic Superstar. With one more release in CLOT’s Nike contract, it can only be ascertained in a few months. Only after their final flourish in the form of the Dunk Lows have been released. Stay tuned!LINEAfter the back-to-back releases of the CLOT x fragment x Nike Dunk Low and the CLOT x Nike Dunk Low “Cork”, rumors are circulating that the duo are set to conclude their long-term partnership together.

While this piece of news will undoubtedly shock sneakerheads worldwide, rest assured that CLOT isn’t exiting the sneaker collaboration game entirely. In fact, Sneaker insider @HORHEAD_sales reported that after this final forthcoming CLOT x Nike collaboration, Edison Chen’s label will explore new horizons with rivals adidas.

The user also mentioned that the last collaborative sneaker will be a “WHAT THE CLOT” project, featuring most if not all notable CLOT x Nike sneakers from the past. It will reportedly also contain a special Air unit on one of the shoes, although details are scanty at the moment.
