There’s a certain aesthetic that designer-upcyclist Nicole McLaughlin has become synonymous with. And its once again on full display in her collaboration with Merrell 1TRL: A paneled moc with a multi-material make of mesh, perforated synthetics, and hairy suede overlays; while embellished with bold branding elements. 

Two colors have come to light thus far. One is a subtle mix of olive greens, tans, and black; the other a blend of natural bone and grey tones contrasted by black accents, given a flash of flair with neon details.

The designer’s creations never follow a typical blueprint, overhauling the original construct of any canvas she “paints” on. For this chapter of her collaborative portfolio, she seems to have taken some design cues from from Merrell’s Moab and Jungle Moc.

Firm release details haven’t been disclosed by either parties but the pairs are projected to arrive at the tail end of 2023 or early 2024.
