The Jumpman Officially Unveils the Jordan Luka 2
A strong debut of the model much like its namesake did his rookie year.
Luka Dončić is a rare generational talent and a basketball ne plus ultra. What he lacks in athleticism, he more than makes up for with an expansive repertoire. A repertoire that Jordan Brand designed his second signature around.
He expresses: “I still can’t believe I have my own signature shoe with Jordan Brand, and now we’re already on the Luka 2. The technology keeps getting better, and I hope people feel the same special connection with this one that I have.”
The sole unit of the Luka 2 has been retrofitted to maximize the omnidirectional moves that make the four-time All-Star so lethal. The sole unit of the Luka 2 retains the mix of Formula23 Foam and an IsoPlate mid-foot system from its predecessor.
The shoe also includes a brand new medial Cushlon 3.0 wedge foam, building on the Luka 1’s capacity to keep each player in place while establishing separation, which places the foot at the ideal banking angle for executing crossovers, Hesi movements, and euro steps.
Five colorways have been unveiled: The “Quai 54”, in celebration of the French streetball tournament’s 20th anniversary, will be released on 8 July; the “Nebula” on the 27th; the “Luk.AI” will be availed to Nike Members earlier on 5 July, with a wider release on the 11th; the “Matador” will hit stores on 3 August; and the last of which pays homage to his home country’s Lake Bled, to be out on 14 September. Each pair will carry an RRP of US$130.
