Hip-hop is more than a music genre, it’s intrinsically a culture. One that has indelibly played a part in giving footwear its own (culture), which Nike has benefitted plenty from. Thus, to commemorate this tether between hip-hop and sneakers, the Swoosh has introduced the “Bronx Origins” series of the Air Force One. A “White” iteration was released last October with the titular “Black” coming out this year.

Black forms the entirety of the upper’s base layer and overlays, with a Swoosh monogram imprint adorning the quarter panels. These panels are presided over by Gold Swooshes with an iridescent finish. Other commemorative motifs appear in the form of the vinyl dubrae imprinted with “NYC” and “50”, with a regal gold touch on the tongue tag and footbed wherein reads, “GOLDEN CELEBRATION”.

The design is rounded off with a while midsole and transparent outsole, shining light on the Gothic stylization of “BRONX” on the outsole underfoot.

The images is the only Rosetta Stone with information scant at the time of writing. Nevertheless, stay tuned! More details should emerge within the coming weeks.
