There aren’t a lot of sportswear brands with a back catalogue as expansive as adidas’. With their strong and long heritage, they introduce the Spezial (SPZL) line. A division started in 2014, focused on the revival and retrofitting of their most prized silhouettes, particularly those that thrived in UK fashion’s fecund years of the ’70s and ’80s. The latest member of the family being the pair-in-question: the new Carnforth shoes.

Full-grain leather makes up the majority of the upper with a particular focus channeled onto the panel on the profiles, therein embossed with the adidas Trefoil. The toebox is then surrounded with suede wrapping around the mudguard traversing the circumference of the pair. Underfoot, the rubber outsole comes accented with ridging framing the adidas branding on the midfoot.

This new Carnforth shoes have also been created to be in line with adidas’ objectives to lessen its carbon footprint; accomplished by using at least 50% recycled material in 20% of the parts used to create the upper.

They’re available for purchase now at adidas’ webstore with an RRP of £110 (~US$135).

Elsewhere under the shade of the Three Stripes, have a look at the Y-3 AJATU Court High.
