Tracy McGrady’s 13 points in 33 seconds against the San Antonio Spurs on December 9, 2004, was hitherto impossible. A rush that gave McGrady’s Houston Rockets the win, by the smallest of margins. Two decades since, a special edition colorway of the T-Mac 5 is being released by adidas Hoops to commemorate one of the greatest comebacks in NBA history.

McGrady was sporting his sixth signature silhouette at the time, but the shrouded ensemble still evokes the memory of that era. Woodgrain accents roam at the heel and the midfoot shank underfoot resembling the hardwood floor panels of the Toyota Center. Another quaint touch on the upper is 13/33 branding embossed on the tongue. The silhouette wears a pitch-black outfit in other places, with a base layer made of a shimmering silver metallic contrasted by the jet-black nubuck forefoot strap. The design is rounded out with the mudguard’s glossy finish.

A release date hasn’t been disclosed yet but it should arrive within the year. It’s expected to carry a price tag of US$160.
