This past April, YEEZY posted a last-minute casting call on social media looking for “beings with shaved heads.” After a few days, the first pictures of what was dubbed the YEEZY SEASON 10 show emerged, albeit the event’s official name being “YZY FREE”.

The underplayed exhibition was held in a vacant store lot on Melrose Avenue, where a varied group of models were simply clad in black jeans, a pair of form-fitting white t-shirts, and little else.

Therein, they positioned candles on the central table while they were standing at attention as part of the performance (or rather, a procession). The themes were earlier echoed by the skin-tight outfit worn by Ye’s wife Bianca Censori. Ye, who was spotted wearing a vintage Manchester United Umbro jersey, was obviously missing from the show itself, departing after setting the mise-en-scène. He reportedly spent the evening in a car with Censori.

No official explanations have been disclosed by Ye himself or his team. By a stretch, subtle implications may be inferred such as the skinheads alluding to his “Black Skinhead” single from his YEEZUS album. Unless that adidas partnership does resume as rumors suggested it might last year, expect this modest yet distinctively-Ye offering to go forward as the brand’s future.
