[Update 20 Mar 2023] Release Confirmed: The upcoming Ronnie Fieg x Clarks Originals x adidas Samba collection will be releasing on Kith’s website and retail locations come 24 March. Fieg also took to his Instagram to showcase more detailed imagery of all three colorways, including an intricate box design specially created for the collection. Check it out via the top slider above.
Every dog has its day, and so will every adidas silhouette. Today and in many days prior, the Samba has been enjoying theirs. It’s always played second fiddle to the Stan Smith as the best-selling footwear in the Three Stripes catalogue but not right now.
The Samba is currently going through a renaissance and there’s no end in sight, especially with the emergence of this tripartite collaboration between Ronnie Fieg, Clarks, and adidas. Not like the football shoes turned quintessential lifestyle sneaker needs any boost, but this aforementioned trinity is set to bring its potential to levels heretofore unseen.
The collection will feature three colorways. The first featuring a uniform khaki colorway throughout; the second a black upper with white stripes like Jack White; and the last a white upper with green (stripes). All bear a suede finish with leather on the profiles and heel tab. It’s most notable feature though, will have to be the Clarks signature crepe sole that for the first time is fused with the familiar and beloved Samba upper.
Information is scant at the time of writing. Although neither of the parties have acknowledged the collaboration in any official capacity, but these images more than ascertains its existence. More should arrive imminently like a release date, price point, and avenues to purchase.
Till then, consider a look at Sporty & Rich‘s take on the classic.
