Birkenstock 1774, a creative subsidiary of the renowned footwear company, offers fresh takes on classic designs. Collaboration with designers, artists, and architects, is habitual for the German label as it aims to challenge the limits of the heritage brand’s quintessence. Additionally focusing on the future and enhancing its core components through cutting-edge design processes. Now it seeks to modernize the iconic silhouettes by emphasizing color and fabric in its newest drop.

This 1774 go-around dresses Birkenstock’s signature molded footbed in exquisite leather and features a raised base that recalls the brand’s orthopedic beginnings. The label continues to evolve with silhouettes from Sylt, Tokyo and Arizo, reinterpreting both the Frolda and Mayari sandals for the first time.

Amazingly, the collection is crafted using specially developed colors (perhaps inspired by the iconic Yves Klein) and raw materials, all sourced in Europe. From Florida’s three slim straps and Arizona’s nappa leather, to Mayari’s three strap lacing and Sylt’s padded quilting, the 1774 offers expressive tones of bone, black and pink.

The first drop of the Birkenstock 1774 collection will be available on 20 March via 1774. Arizona and Sylt silhouettes will launch on 4 May and Tokio on 1 June.
