Jay Chou’s PHANTACi Label Celebrates 16th Anniversary With Reebok Instapump Fury 95
Marking the second collaboration between the Taiwanese brand and Reebok.
Taiwanese pop culture icon Jay Chou started PHANTANCi with “his friend Ric” in 2006. It was a natural offshoot of his creative endeavours having been considered a fashion icon as well in the apex of his music career. Although it may be an esoteric brand outside of the East, it has a strong foothold in Greater China.
Now celebrating its 16th anniversary, the label partners up with Reebok once more to showcase their signatures on the classic Instapump Fury 95. The upper features a mix of materials. Engulfed in black from the fore to the rear, the mudguard gleams with its patent leather finish. In the same space, clean leather makes up the base layer with synthetic textile forming the hallmark jagged overlays.
Branding elements arrive inconspicuously but at the same time serves as the central motif. A monogram of the abbreviated “PH” embellish the ankle collar and interior with PHANTACi blended on the heel counter. It also takes the place of the tag on the quarter. Reebok’s placement remains undisturbed on the tongue and outsole with both names sharing the space on the footbed.
Contrast is presented through the pink accenting on the tongue, pull tab, heel counter, and the outsole underfoot. Merging the aforementioned with the upper is a white textured midsole.
They’re currently available on PHANTACi’s website for NT$5,250 (~US$170) and will be available at Reebok’s via raffle on 25 February, 10am, JST.
