The Multicolored atmos x adidas ZX8000 “Mash Up” Draws Inspiration From the Past
Taking design and aesthetic cues from prior atmos ZX 8000 collaborations.
With a long history of unique sneaker collaborations, atmos is an unquestionable mainstay when it comes to Japanese design and footwear. Sneakerheads from all over the world traveled great distances to obtain the groundbreaking Japanese exclusives from the pre-internet era that helped revolutionize the sneaker scene with the renowned Air Max 1 “Safari”.
The Tokyo-based sneaker boutique continues to stand by the untiring and timeless approach to collaborations, with New Balance and ASICS, to name a few. And now, adidas is firmly at the forefront of its attention releasing the latest atmos x adidas ZX 8000 “Mash Up”.
This multicolored pair has a variety of disjointed panels that all allude to their numerous trips to the legendary silhouette. The “Aqua” and “Black,” which both made their debut back in 2011, are where the pair’s allusions to the “G-SNK” series’ past began. In other places, the colorway bears homage to some more recent releases, such the “Green” from 2020, the “Germany” from 2011, and the “TJ” from 2022, which takes influence from a sample that is a whole decade older than it.
There is still time to enter atmos’ raffle for a chance to win the atmos x adidas ZX 8000 “Mash Up”. The suggested retail price is ¥17,600 (≈US$132).
Elsewhere in the realm of footwear, check out the New Balance 610 “Punch Green” which will glow up your feet.
