For the Masters at Augusta: Nike Air Max 1 Golf “Always Fresh”
For the golf green and the 19th hole.
Every event is usually an opportunity for Nike to serve up a commemorative pair. And for one of the year’s biggest sporting events, they wouldn’t pass up a chance to take a swing. The Masters at Augusta is one of four and the first major championships in golf, usually taking place in April at Augusta National Club in Augusta, Georgia.
Georgia is also known as the Peach State with its namesake becoming the official fruit in 1995. This year, it inspires the palette of the Air Max 1 Golf, while foregoing its usual serrated outsole and synthetic construction.
Peach beige form the base layer of the pair contrasted by light orange overlays. These two washing over the suede build that make up the foundation of the upper. Underneath, jute fabric form the tongue all the way up to the ankle collar. All of which are supported by the white signature Air Max midsole and the translucent outsole, with “Always Fresh” imprinted disparately between the pairs.
Finishing touches arrive by way of the fruit labels scattered throughout the surface. One on the lateral heel, another on the footbed, and the most conspicuous one on the tongue tag. All three bear the words “From our studio, to your feet” along with the iteration’s title, and a peach graphic.
There’s no word about a release date just yet but they’re expected to carry an RRP of US$170. Since its one tied to an event, they should hit the shelves sometime around April during or before the week of the tournament.
