The Nike P-6000 Joins the “Athletic Department”
The latest member of the upcoming collective.
The Dad Shoes have been trendy for many years now, further perpetuated by brands digging deep into their cookie jar and pulling out silhouettes from years past. For Nike, that constitutes the Air Presto and the Zoom Vomero 5 but they’ve also got the Runtekk in the pipeline specially catered to the ladies. Come 2023, fans of the Swoosh will witness the reintroduction of the P-6000.
The shoe is part of an incoming “Athletic Department” collection, although information is sparse about it at the time of writing. Thus far, it has subsumed the Nike Dunk Low and next in line is the pair-in-discussion. It’s similar to the build of its contemporaries from the Y2K-era, the design language sharing the same lexicon.
Tan forms most of the upper, engulfing the staple double-mesh base from the toe box to the ankle collar. It also sees a tonal application on the sockliner, laces, and the midsole.
From there, the supporting cast of accents and hues take centerstage. Blue takes the spotlight on the toe cap and the heel counter, as well as the midfoot eyestays. Green dances accross on the throat of the pair, hopping over the laces. But its moment comes by way of the Nike branding on the tongue, and the model’s name imprinted on the lateral heel.
The Nike P-6000 is said to be inspired by the Pegasus 23 and 2006. An official release date hasn’t been disclosed yet but it’s believed to be within the coming weeks, with the shoes’ arrival in the coming months.
Till then, check out some of the things in pipeline at Nike Town, such as the Air Force 1 Low PRM “Blue Tint”.
