We often hear the quote of “New year, new me”, but Japanese footwear retailer BILLY’S is ready to celebrate the start of 2023 with a spirit of “New year, new kicks”. Joining forces with long time partner Vans, the duo returns for an exclusive “Year of the Rabbit” sneaker pack release.

Releasing as part of the limited Vault by Vans line, the zodiac-themed collection focuses on two essential models with design motifs dedicated to the animal. First on the list comes the OG Classic Slip-On LX, which details stay true to its Made in USA counterparts. With Vans’ checkerboard patterns adorned on the canvas uppers, Taichi-inspired rabbit graphics overlays in the form of board pieces. Arriving in three colorways—red, green and black—they will be made available at six BILLY’S stores across Japan alongside the online shop.

Next in the lineup comes a special pair of DIY Hi VLT LX which features velcro strip detailings. Just as the name implies, the DIY pair allows one to attach overlaying Sk8-Hi and Half Cab patchworks in random fashion for a more personalized look. Referencing to the zodiac theme, rabbit motifs comes in the form of faux fur and fleece materials on the uppers. This pair will see a limited run with only four BILLY’S stores across Japan alongside the online shop.

Set to release on 1st January, the BILLY’S exclusive Vault by Vans “Year of the Rabbit” pack will be made available for a retail price of 12,100 JPY (~US$95) for the Slip-On, and 26,400 JPY (~US$200) for the DIY Hi.
