adidas 500 Without Yeezy Branding is On its Way
Another pair to be de-branded.
A quick TL;DR on the adidas and Yeezy situation — while adidas has parted ways with Ye’s brand, the Trefoil still retains the rights to all Yeezy-designed models. With this legal ownership, adidas plans to roll out its planned Yeezy line up, just sans the branding. Such a decision seems to already be in action, with sources claiming that a non-Yeezy branded 350 V2 “Granite” is in production. Joining the speculations is the return of the previously-dubbed adidas Yeezy 500, but will likely be termed adidas 500 moving forward.
A chip off the old block, this rebranded adidas 500 will feature the same bubbled silhouette and neutral color scheme. A gray mesh base is overlaid with off-white suede overlays. The synthetic mudguards sit above the curved adiPrene-cushioned midsole, adding scuff resistance to the list of pros of this model. 3M reflective piping also surround the mudguard and eyelets, lending a cool sheen during the darkest nights. A ridged outsole provides added traction and stability as you march on through your day. It is likely that the Ortholite insole will remain, but will now be left without Yeezy’s signature stamp.
No official release dates have followed these images, but we expect it to surface in 2023. In the meantime, why not check out adidas’ “Love Union” with graffiti artist André Saraiva?
