Vans x Sci-Fi Fantasy Collection Subsumes the Half Cab and Skate Sid
It's all California love from these two native brands.
California-based label Sci-Fi Fantasy goes back into the laboratory with Vans, succeeding their first collaboration two years ago. For this sophomore effort, the collection subsumes the Half Cab—celebrating its 30th anniversary this year—while reintroducing the the Skate Sid VCU.
The Skate Half Cab ’92 VCU gets overhauled with a fully revised upper, molded heel counter, locked-in tongue straps, and a recut DURACAPÔ underlay. There, the Hanzi characters adorn its surface before culminating to a singular branding on the heel, in flaming orange, as it is for Vans’ on the lateral panel and tongue tag. White contrast stitching adds the finishing touches, supported by white sole unit underfoot
The collection will also see a redesign of the Skate Sid VCU. The construction on its upper sees the low-top skate shoe in cracked leather along with a striking orange updates to their Vans’ Flying V logo and the dual-branding on the tongue tag.
The collection is currently available on both collaborators’ website with a price tag of US$95.
