Following a blue denim pair leaked earlier on is another pair of New Balance 2002R that aims to push the envelope a little further. Appearing in a tonal nude colorway, this New Balance 2002R “Nude/Cork” proudly embraces various shades of nude showcased via rich layers and textures.
Atop an unsuspecting off-white mesh upper, layer upon layer of skin-colored suede, both smooth and shaggy, wrap around the 2002R. More nude tones are spotted on the outsole and NB’s N-ERGY cushioning underfoot. Elsewhere on the shoe, a darker tan color accents the vamp and heel via the addition of natural brown leather. Dressed in white, the “N” logo on the side, laces and midsole help to break the monotony of this nude color palette.
Amidst a sea of tonal nudes, the most interesting detail of this New Balance 2002R “Nude/Cork” would be the usage of cork material around the heel cup. From the inclusion of colored bits in the cork, it’s possible the material is recycled or repurposed. New Balance’s logo is printed in white over the cork.
Like its Blue Denim sibling, not much is known about this nude 2002R. Expect these two pairs to launch sometime in 2023. While we wait for more release details to trickle in, check out this upcoming pair of New Balance 2002R—this time outfitted in “White Fur”.
