adidas Forum Low Officially Licenses the Grinch for Xmas
The Grinch actually appears on the shoe.
As the year heads towards its conclusion, Mariah Carey’s not the only sensation that’s defrosting. Sneaker brands are starting to bring their Christmas-themed designs out of their chambers — a trend started by Nike when they first dropped the Kobe 6 “Grinch”-inspired colorway in 2010. Since then, merry-making pairs have become commonplace every Nov-Dec period, but they are often derivative references that nods to a certain color or festive motif.
However, the Brand with Three Stripes has decided to make their relationship with the season officially licensed through a collaborative The Grinch x adidas Forum Low. Dr Seuss’ The Grinch, despite its grouchy holiday-hating spirit, is a fixture among Christmas merchandise that has clear characteristics to build off. The first of which is its limey mane — a trait that manifests as shaggy green suede on the Forum Low. The insole makes a literal reference, with the animated character dressed in Santa’s clothes. To complement this outift, hits of red accents appear on the strap hardware and outsole.
The Grinch’s grouchy eyes also make an appearance on the tongue while metal pins with the character are threaded through the laces. The shoe box joins in on the Grinchy-fun, with the tissue paper covered in Santa Grinch, and the custom box showcasing the Grinch’s evil smile.
Expect this The Grinch x adidas Forum Low to start stealing Christmas on 1 Dec. In the meantime, why not check out END. and adidas’ sophisticated collaboration?
