The Nike Air Max Plus first debuted in 1998 and in the more than two decades since, it remains as relevant as ever. Despite the maximalist approach towards retrofuturistic silhouettes of its kind, the titular shoe stands out from its contemporaries for its versatility. Its upper a fertile space for design variations, be it a colorway, graphics, or textiles.

The pair in discussion takes on a minimalist approach on the upper, with a white mesh base serving as the canvas. Mica Green gradation permeates the space from the quarter, laying claim to the lace loops around the tongue as well.

There, reflective 3M strips, a model hallmark, lays claim alternating between the laces. Other familiar features are a mainstay like the white leather mudguard and overlays throughout its circumference, and the TPU cage on the profiles. All of which are supported by the signature sole unit with visible air bubbles on the midsoles.

A release date hasn’t been disclosed by Nike but it should be soon before long. The Air Max Plus 90 has a RRP of US$175 and be made available at the Swoosh’s brick-and-click when the powers that be decide so.

Until then, check out the incoming Nike Terminator High “Velvet Brown”, the sombre colorway reflecting the mood of the colder months ahead.
