[Update 14 Nov 2022] Fat Joe has revealed another possible iteration of the Air Force 1 Low “Terror Squad” in a similar black/white composition sans strawberry pink piping. The heel overlay stitching has also been revealed to be a stylised take on “Joe”, but subsequent official information from Nike will confirm what this embroidered patch is. The intertwining relations of hip hop, streetwear and sneakers have many forks, but among the crowd of linkages is a path that leads to Nike’s custom Air Force 1 colorways for each member of hip hop collective Terror Squad in 2005. The label was founded by Fat Joe — a rapper widely regarded to have one of the best sneaker collections in the world. It was to every sneakerhead’s chagrin that the colorways never saw a public release… Until now.

Fat Joe took to his Instagram to post pictures of himself in the prized Air Force 1s at a New Knicks game. What really sold this as a potential release teaser is the carousel’s closeups of a sample pair. Oh, and his subtle caption: “TS/AF1 soooooon come”.

In the series of photos, the Forces’ premium white construction is overlaid with dark gray panels and accented with pastel pinks on the Swoosh’s lining, insoles and tongue tab branding. The outsole adopts the same pink, which is a deviation from the OG ’05 version, which had a gum sole. Along the lateral heel, “TS” is embroidered in white and pink threads as a nod to the 90’s hip hop group. Though the original edition had “Macho” embroidered on the heel, it is unclear whether this new release will feature the same insignia.

Given that the original 2005-released pair was resold at Sotheby’s for $4,500, we are sure that this coveted pair will be in high demand. While we are disappointed to say that no release dates have yet to make it out of the woodwork, we have a feeling that a 2023 release is highly probable. It is the 25th Anniversary of Terror Squad’s establishment, after all!

In the meantime, check out the top slider for sample images provided by Fat Joe.

In other hyped collaborations, the Virgil Abloh x Supreme MCA Box Logo Tee might drop soon.
